High traffic retail service brand and design

Ford wanted an analysis of how a high-traffic retail experience might be systematized.

The project began as a 3d design request but we quickly determined that the project needed more than a 2d/3d approach. It needed an understanding of how those things had to work together with a revised sales and stocking strategy.

Through observation, stakeholder interviews, trends analysis and behavioral economics, we established the human interaction, physical design, financial process and technical backend that would create an effective retail experience for high footfall zones.

We then created a brand for the experience - Smart Labs - leaning into Millennials' desire for authenticity and informality. From physical and digital assets and interfaces to staff uniforms and scripts.

Smart Labs are being rolled out in the UK and Canada.
